Snow Day!!

wow I dont think that I have ever watched it snow this much in Virginia Beach! It is soo beautiful, i am constantly mesmerized just watching the little fluffy flakes fall. This morning when I woke up I peeked out the window and was filled with glee, the weathermen were right finally!!!!! Then after remembering a joking conversation last night in which robby said he was gonna have to have cheeze and bacon for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if he got snowed in......realized that we needed to make a trip to the grocery store for provisions for our snow day a.s.a.p. So I talked robby into making a grocery store run to stock up on yummys for the day. *He aggreed to cinnamon rolls for breakfast, and hot chocolate with tons of mini marshmallows! Then we also drove out to the oceanfront so that we could watch the snow on the sand. So much fun! i will post pics later so everyone can see. The wind was so strong down there that it would create snow drifts on the sand, and robby would pretend to be burried in snow up to his neck. After lunch we are planning on building some snow men in the front yard :) we even got carots at the grocery store. I am planning on using the sombrero that i got for my birthday as his hat!!! yay for mexican snowmen in vb :)

Two fun new websites!!

While these websites aren't new to the world. They are new to me. The first is Oomph they have some swoon worthy tables. I loooove the cute shapes of the 'tini tables and the awesome coffee tables. It makes me want to enlist robby's help to build a fun design for a coffee table and paint it a fun eye popping paint color! Chartruse green? Teal? yes i think so. I also looove a few of their pillows and while the 300 price tag is hard to swallow, i think i could either find similar ones on etsy or even design my own fabric using....

another fun website that was shown to me by my friend Soraia. Spoonflower is a fun website where you can create your own fabric! And while this doesnt run too cheap (~18 bucks a yard) it would definately be worth it for some fun pillows or a cute accent in a room that is exactly what you wanted. Now I dont really have the photoshop skills to design some of the fabrics that I would dream of, but fortunately there are plenty of awesome designs that you can choose from!

ahh so many wonderful interior design websites/blogs... and no house to decorate!!

New Year New Finds!

Ok and to the right is a sideways picture of the sketch

I drew and am talking about later in the post.

No idea why it posted up here----------->
Above is the "Do all things with love print" there is a link below. I absolutely looove this print and cannot wait to add it to my future home with a C and R in the tree!

During my winter break I have had lots of time to browse the internet searching for interior design blogs to read and cute DIY tips to follow. A few days ago I fell in love again (sorry Robby no hard feelings, ok?) http://www.younghouselove.com/ is awesome!! Sherry and John are a young couple who live in Richmond, VA (nice and close). They have posted pictures of their beautiful house and how they got it the way it is. They also do mood boards and color inspirations for readers!
After browsing their website and looking at the awesome pictures I knew I didnt want to miss a moment, so my latest additiction has been to go back and read all of their posts from the beginning. (Seeing as their blog is almost 3 years old and they are avid bloggers its a good thing im a fast reader or this would be quite the undertaking). I love it! I am so inspired and have som many ideas for my future house!

One of those ideas is to create an asymetrical collage on one of my walls using white frames just like they have in their 3rd bedroom. (i also like the one right by the front door). To start this collection off nice and early I found this awesome print by VOL.25 visit her etsy shop here. I have a feeling that there will be lots of prints from this artist in my future home. I cant get enough of them!!!

I ended up ordering just a post card sized print from her zazzle shop. This I think is a better size for me anyways. But I LOOOVE the "Do all things with love print" (found at top of this post.. dont know why i cant get pictures to post where I want them..
Here is the super cute Robot Postcard that I ordered! I know the layout of these pics is kinda confusing so I will repost a picture as soon as I have them all framed!

Happy New Year!

(Pic from our small but fun NYE party at Robby's)

Wow yet another year has gone by and while it was a great one there were a few moments I would love to go back and redo ::cough:: sign up for the VRA, there are even more memories that I am blessed to have (such as my VT trip with robby). I started this blog almost one year ago and while I was not always as faithful to posting as I would have liked, there are many fun projects to come!

I received some wonderful Christmas gifts. Discovered a love for gap always skinny jeans in the Long size!!! And started two fun projects, one reupholstering a chair I found on the curb.. and the other attempting to make the Amy Butler Weekender bag! Now while I'm pretty handy with the staple gun, sewing is fairly new to me. Thankfully my wonderful friend Soraia is being forced... er volunteering to help me perfect my sewing techniques! Stay tuned for some more fun chair before and afters!
