More changes..
I got the pattern for making the pouf pillow in the mail on friday and got to work. Yesterday I made one pillow and will finish the other one up later this week. (my sewing machine is acting up..grr) It turned out super cute and looks just like this one for $265.00 yikes! I got the fabric from joann's it is a faux leather that is actually a table cloth material so it should be easy to wipe off and clean. This allowed me to get the white with out fear of it looking dirty 24 hours after I made it. The pattern comes with instructions for two sizes an 18" and 24" pouf. I went with the 18" and really like the size of it. I wish it was taller though :( its a little short to use as a foot rest. Robby thinks I should have gone with the larger one but it would have been so huge!
Also we went out and got a rug. I found this one at target and love it! it is super soft and really makes the space feel so cozy! Mav loves it too!

ps. tomorrow we are off to the pumpkin patch!! yayayayay!!!

Busy weekend...
So this past weekend I decided that I wanted a bar cart. I love the idea of them and they can be super cute and fresh when done correctly. I was looking at them on ebay they were in the $100-$150 dollar range plus shipping...boo. So I looked on craigslist and found nothing :( then I tried craigslook.com and just typed in cart....(craigslook checks all of craigslist and you can set it to show you up to 200 miles away from your location. It also shows pictures right next to the title for easy viewing) And TADA!!! I found the cutest brass vintage "tea cart" and i wanted it...needed it. I looked at the price and... $10 YESSSS!!! it was going to be mine! I sent off an email hoping to be the first person interested. I was and Sunday this little beauty made its way into our living room.
Now I am on the hunt for some vintage barware/decanters. I found this cool guy in a thrift store today for $4
Also I have seen a tutorial for making this "inspiration board" (basically a bulletin board) on Bryn's Blog. I followed it and made this nice little one to put up lots of fun pictures and notes!
Desk Before: (not bad but I wanted a change and a place to put notes)
Desk after: Wonderful!!
Now that we have finally settled into our place I am feeling the need to tweak things and really add more little touches around the house.
Also I bought some nice faux-leather to make some pouf ottomans for our two chairs using this amy buttler pattern! Super excited to get the pattern and will post that later :)

Long time no see....
why hello blog. i missed you.
Lots of fun updates today. I have been super busy student teaching but I really love it. I am so hoping that when I get a job it will be with the younger grades!
Also I keep looking at the slip covers I made for the bar chairs.... and cannot decide if I like them or not. idk. We have pillows of the same fabric on the couch and i just dont know. So i took the original slip covers that had paint smears on them and decided to paint a faux bois pattern on the back of them. Which one do you like better??? hmm...
Also still on the hunt for bridesmaid dresses. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this one from jcrew in the "winter mint" color, but im thinking it's a bit pricey... good news is they always mark down their winter colors in the spring so i might just play the waiting game for those.
Hmm also just found this one on sale at jcrew... wish i knew what the color looked like in person becaues i really like it but they have no returns on sale dresses :(
Also some nice random pics from Robby and my trip to the Zoo a month ago :)
